This site is a resource for all artists. We provide information that help artists sell online and learn the best methods to accomplish that.
This site is also in a transition from a blog originally formed and solely written by Chris O’Byrne (see bio below) to a community blog where anyone with interest and a desire to share can get an account as an author and start helping other artists and establishing themselves as experts in the field. To receive an account, please send an email to chris@onlineartsmarketing.com.

I have lived many lives in my 43 years. I grew up on a farm in southeastern Minnesota, then dallied in the Air Force right after high school. I got married, went to work construction, then short order cook, then moved to Homestead, FL and worked in a department store, moved back to Minnesota and worked in a department store, then finally in a fiberglass factory before I figured out that I could go to college. As I worked on my first degree (Chemical Engineering), I also worked in a fast food joint and as a security guard. After working in paper mills for a while, I decided to go back to school and got my teaching degree. During that time I spent eight years working with the developmentally disabled. I taught middle and high school science and math for six years and for my last three years of teaching I helped start and run a charter school for the arts in Rochester, MN. During that time, I also worked on my third degree, a Master’s of Art in Earth Literacy. While teaching at the art school, I learned how to incorporate art into all of my classes on a daily basis and encourage the creativity of all of my students.
After my teaching career, I spent three years traveling cross-country selling, training, and installing point-of-sale computer systems for The CoPos Company in Winona, MN. Most of my time was spent in food co-ops and I was blessed to both work with and meet wonderful, enlightened people and see a large portion of this country.
For the last several years I have been learning all aspects of marketing, selling, and web design. That, along with my passion for helping people learn and create, has led to this website and my first book. It seems like every day I learn something new about marketing and all of it can be applied to helping you sell art. I am excited to share this with you and help you achieve your goal of making a real living from your art.
